Fort Pierce was the next radio station investment. Here we paid $600,00 for an AM station and a class C FM stations. The FM became The Gator WKGR 98.7 and the AM was WFtp 1330. We started with very humble beginnings in a broken down building on Metzger Road in Fort Pierce. Over the years we built a new building, sold the AM, kept the real estate, and built a warehouse park. After the sale of the AM we moved the FM studios to a local Bank building changed the call letterers to WIZD (The Wizard with the help of Bill Tanner and David Ross at Y-100) We then worked with Frank Spain and built a 1,549 foot tower south of Stuart Florida where we were able to put a city grade signal over Palm Beach and as far south as Boca Raton. The actual city of license was Fort Pierce-Stuart-Palm Beach- Boca Raton.
